New Stats Gadgets by Blogger

After Blogger launched the Blogger Stats to everyone, now it created two new gadgets that you can add to your blog to show your readers interesting stats from your blog: Blog’s stats and Popular Posts gadgets. This feature currently available in Blogger in Draft.

The data for these gadgets is automatically taken from Blogger Stats. To use them, go to Design | Page Elements, and click on “Add a gadget.”
The Blog’s Stats gadget displays total pageviews* of your blog. The gadget comes in different styles and also features an optional sparkline graph.
Also remembers that the pageviews are counted from when we rolled out the Stats feature, not from the first day your blog was created.

The Popular Posts gadget helps your readers quickly find out which of your posts have been viewed the most by your readers. The gadget also comes with several different styles and configurations. You can arrange them as basis of All Time, Last 30 Days or Last 7 Days. Also you can add the thumbnail and snippet or the post.
The new Stats gadgets are available now on Blogger in Draft, so you can go ahead and give them a try now.

Blogger's Real-Time Stats Available for Everyone

Blogger has now make available Stats feature to everyone. The feature should now show up in the Dashboard for every Blogger user. Now you can see a Stats tab on your dashboard just after Monetize tab. The stat tab show you the basic Overview, Posts, Traffic Sources and Audience in categories like Now, Day, Week, Month and All Time.
Feature Highlights:
Stats is an important piece of the blogging puzzle, as it allows you to track your blog's traffic and find out exactly what your audience is looking for. As such, integrated, real-time stats has been one of the most frequently requested features from our users. You can find more information about Blogger Stats in our earlier announcement; meanwhile, here are some quick highlights for you.

    * Real-time tracking. Each time your blog is viewed, you can see the change on your stats almost immediately
    * Insights about your audience. Top search keywords, countries, browsers, and more
    * Great user interface. Beautiful, easy-to-read graphs and charts

Updates:
After our initial launch to Blogger in Draft, we had some very helpful feedback and suggestions from you. Based on them, we’ve made improvements including the following:

    * Self-view exclusion. Some of you wanted Blogger Stats to exclude your own pageviews, and now there’s an option for that: On Stats | Overview, click on the “Don’t track your own pageviews” link (it’s on the right side, under the pageview summary) and select the “Don’t track my pageviews” option. We’re also now excluding traffic coming from Blogger admin pages and post Preview, providing more accurate pageview data.
    * More effective bot traffic filtering. We’ve made several improvements to detect “bots” (the non-human visitors, such as crawlers) including extending our list of known “bots” to provide more accurate pageviews from real visitors.
    * Internationalization. Blogger Stats is now available in more than 40 languages.

According to Noah Fiedel and Wiktor Gworek, Software Engineers at Blogger, "Just in time for our eleventh birthday, we are excited to introduce Stats for Blogger. First launched to Blogger in Draft back in July, Blogger Stats is a cool real-time stats service that's fully integrated with Blogger; you don't need to do anything to enable it for your blog. You can find the new Stats tab on your blog’s dashboard—go ahead and take it for a spin!".

The stat tool 1st launched in beta for Blogger in Draft some time back and now the team has made some adjustments and added some features as well. Now its very easy to a blogger to check own stat and all calculate the more possibility.

Blogger Introduced Comment Spam Filtering

Now blogger also has a system to fighting with spam. Blogger is one of the biggest blog hosts in the world, it has to deal with huge amounts of spam messages every day. But, until now, bloggers have had to either enable comment moderation or use CAPTCHA. Blogger will now have to go through Google’s filtering system.
According to
Saurav Shah and Junho Ryu, Software Engineers,“Commenting is one of the most integral parts of blogging: it’s what makes blogging a conversation, not a monologue. That’s why we are pleased to announce two cool new improvements to Blogger’s comments system: much better spam filtering and the ability to view all comments on your blog in one place”.

"A blog is an open communications system, inviting conversations from all web users. Unfortunately, spammers have been finding their way into these conversations. To fight spam, some of you enabled moderation of all comments or required word verification or login. While somewhat effective, these checks limit real-time conversations around your blog."

"To address this, we’ve integrated Google’s spam filtering technologies into the Blogger comment system. Some of you will notice the new “Comments” tab. (Note: We are gradually rolling this out to all users, so some of you may not see the new Comments tab yet.) In the Comments tab, there is a Spam sub-tab that shows all the comments that are likely spam."

The comments are split into three categories, Published, Awaiting Moderation and Spam. You can see any comment made on your blog and delete it or remove it from the same page. You can also mark it as spam which will delete it immediately.

The comments in the Spam inbox are not visible to your readers. Here, you can permanently delete spam comments by selecting them and choosing Delete. You can also mark comments as Not Spam that have been incorrectly classified as spam (what we call the “false-positives”). Choose Not Spam and the selected comments will be moved out of the spam list and will be immediately published on your blog.

Blogger now leverages Google’s spam filtering technologies, used in Gmail for example, for comments. Any suspicious comment will be moved to the Spam tab and will not be displayed on your blog. From the Comments section you’ll be able to remove the spam comments or mark them as Not Spam if that is the case.

Now Use Your Own Image for Your Blog’s Background

Blogger introduced the one of the most requested features was the ability to upload your own background image, after the launched of the Blogger Template Designer. Though blogger provide hundreds of professional stock photos from iStockPhoto, but many of users are serious photo buffs and would like to use own beautiful photo as your blog’s background image. Now all they rejoice with this new feature.
To set your own image as blog background, go to Design | Template Designer | Background, click on Background Image, and you’ll notice a new “Upload image” option, which will allow you to select and upload your image.
For images that fill the entire background, we recommend using a resolution of 1800 pixels wide and 1600 pixels high, and file size less than 200KB to minimize the loading time of your blog pages. We support JPEG, GIF, and PNG format images.

After uploading a photo, you will see additional options that are not available for the built-in images: Alignment, Repeat, and Scroll options.
    * Alignment: You can adjust horizontal (left, center, right) and vertical (top and bottom) alignment of your background image.
    * Repeat (Tile): If you have a small image, you can have it repeat horizontally and/or vertically to fill the page. Otherwise, we recommend that you choose a page background color that blends in with your background image.
    * Scroll: By default, your image stays in place while readers scroll the page contents. By selecting the “Scroll with page” option, both the background image and page contents scroll together. We recommend that you use an image that blends into your background color or set your image to tile vertically if you choose this option.

This feature is only available on Blogger in Draft right now.

How to Add Classified Labels ( Sub-Labels) for blogger?

Our reader, SHAILABH recently asked me: "Do u have any idea how i can classify the labels? and for each class i want to create dropdown menu. Plz help.So I done some research and found a nice script at Destroydrop
What you will need is to get/sort all your labels and then arrange them. e.g.

LABELS
+ Games
- PC
  - Action
  - Shooter
  - RPG
- Console
  - PS 2
  - XBOX
+ Softwares
- Windows
- MAC
- Linux
Demo Site

The script we have do not add automatically labels. First we have add the labels manually.

1. Sign in to Blogger > Layout > Edit HTML and look for

Now copy following code and place it to ABOVE

It's done. Now you have to add labels and their links to above code manually.

Concentrate on

d = new dTree('d');

d.add(0,-1,'My example tree');

d.add(1,0,'Node 1','example01.html');
d.add(3,1,'Node 1.1','example01.html');
d.add(8,1,'Node 1.2','example01.html');
d.add(5,3,'Node 1.1.1','example01.html');
d.add(6,5,'Node 1.1.1.1','example01.html');

d.add(2,0,'Node 2','example01.html');

d.add(4,0,'Node 3','example01.html');

d.add(7,0,'Node 4','example01.html');

What you got? Nothing!! OK. Here is the Explanation. In the following code
d.add(1,0,'Node 1','example01.html');

There are two numbers after d.add. First number is of sub label itself and second number is of parent label.
You will have to experiment yourself to understand it. Add the name of label and link of that label as follows.
d.add(1,0,'Node 1','example01.html');

will be

d.add(1,0,'Name of Label','Link of that Label');

If you find any difficulty about this hack reply me.
